Default Farming

Just something I've been meaning to say for a while.

I like to farm, I like to farm in PUGs. I REALLY like to farm quickly.

I don't want to sit around and talk to you. I don't want to wait for you to answer the phone. I don't want to have to stop for any reason.

Farming is supposed to be efficient, in both drops and time. It's not part of role playing. It's not something that is to be enjoyable and make life long friends. It's to clear an area for drops as fast as you can so you can either clear it again, or go use those drops somewhere else.

You want to clear SF in a group, great. You even want to do it as a five man team, great. Don't say your looking for a farming group, knowing that you want to take your time and enjoy it. Say that you're looking for a 5 man adventuring party or something. Will save us all time. Me from having to wait for you. And you for having to go back to town and fill my position.

save everybody a problem and just ask the farming party if they are hardcore do it fanatics like you or a group that is planning on having fun while getting loot.

just ask before you go.

easy is it not?

Hm... if only I wasn't the 'responsible' person in my home, and didn't HAVE to answer the phone if it rings and then spend some time with them (up to 5-10 mins) discussing mechanical problems my car (the only way to get to work) is having with them... do I know there is an incoming call like that for me? Well.. if I did, I'd be solo farming or hanging out in town, not joining a party to go farming or questing with.

So do take the time to realise that sometimes, the unexpected happens, and in most cases, people don't go afk for the hell of it.

Heres some thoughts...establish some trust with ONE other person who has a good compatable class to farm SF. Add them to friends list. Farm up a storm when you two know you can. Solves the whole PUG problem with people doing it sparyingly instead of JUST what they like to do. Its not like you need a whole group or even 5 guys to clear SF, 3 does it just fine.

Get some friends. Or get a guild.

That way you know them well, which means it cuts down on management & BS like drawing on map, talking about which route to take, and arguing about who's right.

Now hey, wait a minute man, who are you to make the "default behavior" expected by everyone that puts up the farming flag? Huh? huh?

Look at my side: I like to farm. I love to farm in Pugs, not alone. After playing out all the quests and all the missions in this game with 4 characters, there isn't much else to do for me but farm. And I love farming with Pugs and not with henchies due to the human interaction and fun we have telling jokes and just being good spirited and humorous along the way. If someone has to stop a sec for a phone call, hey, thats ok, we just can set our characters to dancing and tell some stories while we wait.

So what do you think about that? From my side of things, I should just go out and look for a farming party like I always do. YOU on the other hand, should be the one to specify that you are looking for a business only farming party to farm with no communication, no waiting, and as fast as possible.

My favorite farming partners: Henchmen. They don't AFK, leave, or bore you with their lives.

Somewhat of a pointless gripe really since you're talking about random PUGs online. Actually the same things can happen in Guild groups etc too. You have absolutely no control over other people's lives. Tough break.

Perhaps you should advertise your "requirements" beforehand and see if you get (any) responses/invites at all...

I think he would've been one of those players who would call his game "Baalrun x12" and then kick mephisto's ass alone in good old diablo, just cause more ppl = more drops in that old game..... and then do it ALL DAY LONG and bragging about his drops after..... hmm maybe you'll have a better time playing that?

Another grouchy Echo Nuker.

There's a thread a few posts down whining about people not wanting Ele's for farming anymore? We should merge them because the answer to that thread is right here.
